The Company

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.
Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Laser Support Engineer.

365 Resourcing is the preferred supplier to Mazak.

You will be responsible for enhancing the support in the Installation/ Service organisations of our dealers in the National Distributor territories which include: Finland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Greece.

The role will be office based but visits to customer sites across our dealer network and Europe will be required, sometimes at short notice and on occasion, for extended periods.

The Role:

  • Supporting National Distributor dealers with technical assistance predominantly for laser processing machines but also machine tools by phone or email and where remote assistance is not sufficient, attending customer premises to ensure satisfactory:
    • Machine installation,
    • Fault finding,
    • Repair,
    • Part number identification,
    • Customer satisfaction.
  • Compiling detailed fault reports for submission to our HQ in Japan.
  • Where required, travel to any Mazak branch or Customer within Europe, again, sometimes at a short notice to assist in problem solving, installations etc.

Skills / Experience

  • Good communication is vital, both written and verbal.
  • Have a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Good product knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of Mazak laser machines, ideally with a ‘hands on’ mechanical bias.
  • A logical and structured approach to fault finding and problem solving.
  • Ideally have knowledge of (**laser**) controls.
  • Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Understanding ladder diagrams, would also be beneficial.
  • Ability to compile detailed reports using Microsoft office.
  • Must have the ability to work using one’s own initiative and with minimal guidance.
  • Previous experience of working in a service environment would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Willing to respond to email and phone calls out of normal working hours.
